1997EV
- "STROBOS VANN"
(rur038) We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: each of 1997EV's works has a personality of its own, and "Strobos Vann" happens to be the harshest and bleakest creature the Sardinian project has ever unleashed upon us. More still: it actually drills its way into the mind like some dark brooding alien menace from a dimension unknown. On "Strobos Vann", minimal throbbing rhythms and hypnotizing abstract post-techno collide with bleak cosmic ambiences and an almost mosh-friendly industrial groove. Guitars have been put aside or drowned in so many effects that you will hardly recognize them. It's skeletal and spare, but so brutal and acidic that you can almost feel the jackhammer slowly entering the skull and the corrosion melting away the brain.
